Cutting in line to put this on the upcoming list: a reborn-at-school story, starting this year.
I know this blurb's a bit rough. I'll polish it some more...
Xu Duoyi was reborn at the age of thirty-eight.
One moment, she was discussing with her husband, Cheng Jiayi, how to celebrate their tenth anniversary; the next, she was caught in a car accident.
She and Cheng Jiayi had met too late, when they were both twenty-eight. It was such an awkward age. They worked for rival companies, and after facing off, trading open and covert attacks, and trying every scheme in the book, they slowly discovered a sense of mutual appreciation. Amid the fading embers of their youth, with thirty fast approaching, they struggled to rekindle their passion for love.
They had known each other for three years, spent another two learning to get along, and finally married at thirty-three after overcoming countless obstacles. Both were single professionals, and as soon as they married, the daily grind of bills, meals, and household chores hit them head-on. They struggled to balance work and family during the prime of their careers, and missed out on promotions and raises.
Just when they had finally made it in their careers, they were caught in this car accident.
In the last second before she lost consciousness, Xu Duoyi thought regretfully:
If only we had met earlier.
If only I had met you ten years sooner. In the days when we were young and full of life, you would have been my first love, my first awkward kisses and embraces. We would have been a chaotic young couple, doing all the wonderful things people in love do while we were still young.
If our lives are destined to be short, then if we had met ten years earlier, wouldn't everything have been just right?
Perhaps Heaven saw how sincere she was and sent her back to age fourteen as a buy-one-get-one-free deal. She found herself back in the second year of middle school. Before Xu Duoyi could feel happy, the sight of nine subjects laid out before her, Chinese, math, English, politics, history, geography, physics, chemistry, and biology, left her utterly dumbfounded.
And how come the husband who was so calm, restrained, taciturn, and devoted in her last life was such a goofball as a teenager?
Childhood sweethearts, college romance. Two goofballs, girl pursues boy, truly chaotic young love.
Theme: No matter what age I meet you, I have not a single regret.
