Of Course, You Should Forgive Him

Roy transmigrates into a book, becoming a handsome, rich second-generation minor character in a boys' love novel on Green River.

The minor character is engaged to the scummy alpha Jian Lingyun through an alliance between their wealthy families. Though he is devoted to Jian Lingyun, no matter how many times Jian betrays him, he forgives him every time. He even uses his family's influence to support Jian wholeheartedly, paving the way for him and backing him up.

Of course, once Jian has seized power, he finds his true love and kicks the minor character to the curb.

Roy doesn't like this role, but to avoid breaking character, he performs his devoted love with all his heart.

So in scummy alpha Jian Lingyun's eyes, Roy loves him to the bone and is utterly faithful.

After Jian comes home drunk, Roy thoughtfully prepares hangover medicine and hot water to help him bathe. When Jian's stomach acts up, Roy personally makes soup and brings it to his office, watching him drink it. Even after Jian scolds and ignores him, Roy only says with red-rimmed eyes, "I just wanted to treat you a little better." When Jian's career hits a low point, Roy even helps him appeal to his family for resources. And when Jian helps his first love, Roy still puts up with him. Jian finds all of this tiresome and dull, and pays it no mind at all.

Jian is sure Roy could never betray him.

Until one day, Jian sees Roy holding a glass of red wine in his left hand and an aloof, beautiful young man in his right arm, laughing boldly and carefree. Then he sees his sworn enemy, Zhang Lidong, fussing over Roy, asking after him and doting on him at close range. Finally, he spots his friend Chi Chongxu nearby, jealous and competing for Roy's attention, yet perfectly happy to do so.

Jian Lingyun: ...

He pulls out his phone. It still displays the message Roy sent him: "Are you going drinking again today, big brother? Take care of your health. I love you most, big brother. When are you coming home?"

But the four bullies of Bailu Academy are completely wiped out, sprawled on the ground and groaning. In the end, Su Jingxuan looks aggrieved, his eyes red, and apologizes: "Let my brothers go, and I'll be your servant."

Later, when plums turn golden and apricots grow plump, and cicadas sing in the Southern Garden at summer's height,

Xie Chi carries a bowl of iced milk pudding and chilled locust-leaf drink to Su Jingxuan. Su Jingxuan turns his head and gives him the cold shoulder.

Xie Chi's refined face grows awkward. "Su Su, don't be mad. I was wrong."

Su Jingxuan takes a fierce bite of an apricot and shoots him a sidelong glance. "That's strange. How could you be wrong? You can actually be wrong? How did I not know you'd done something wrong? What did you do wrong?"
