An Interstellar Guide to Petting Cats

Couple: gentle, buxom big sister x younger, explosive-tempered, catlike little guy Formal blurb: In the interstellar era, humanity expands its territory into the cosmos, only to repeat the same rivalries and wars it once fought on Earth, until its conflicts disturb another advanced life-form in the universe: the Zerg. The long war against the Zerg erases the concept of "countries." A united Federation is formed to resist the outside threat, leaving only "sectors" that inherit the old names of ancient nations. Mecha pilots are the vanguard against the alien menace. After a century of war, Zerg incursions have dwindled to almost nothing. The Federation remains in place, and human society has achieved a level of peace and unity never seen before. Yet beneath the calm surface lies a deep abyss, with currents stirring. Content warnings: 1. Lots of original worldbuilding. 2. An interstellar version of the history of nations mocking each other, with plenty of broad-brush national stereotypes. 3. Plenty of the author's personal interests are mixed in. Mecha and warship names are drawn from weapons from World War II to the modern day. Some are jokes, but please don't scrutinize them for historical accuracy. 4. All mecha designs are based on real models, as are the aerial combat maneuvers, but they're all given sci-fi upgrades to fit the interstellar setting. 5. This novel includes forum-style sections. 6. The male lead's name is literally "father's name." The author knows what a patronymic is. If you ask why he was given this name, I won't tell you. Just read the story, okay? [Looking even more desperate than you] 7. Both leads grow over the course of the story. Don't expect them to dominate the world from the start. Another novel of the same type, available for advance reservation: Full Metal Strike. Theme:
