After My Husband Was Kidnapped by the Demon King [Western Fantasy]

[Coming Soon] See the author's profile for "The Earl's Daughter and the Lady Butler" One ordinary noontime, just as Ofina stepped out to deliver lunch to her mother-in-law, she heard some terrible news. The Demon King, defeated ten years ago, had awakened again and kidnapped the "Flower of the Kingdom," who had been representing the royal family on a tour to learn about the people's lives, along with a dozen other unlucky bystanders who happened to be nearby. Unfortunately, her newlywed husband was one of those unlucky bystanders... After hearing the whole story, Ofina silently untied her apron, tucked a kitchen knife into her clothes, and went to her mother-in-law's house to say goodbye. She was going to the Demon King's castle to rescue her husband. Her mother-in-law was horrified and tried desperately to stop her. Ofina showed her the knife. "To tell you the truth, I'm the former hero who defeated the Demon King ten years ago." Her widowed mother-in-law fell silent, then pulled off one of the table's oddly shaped legs. The mother-in-law gripped the makeshift staff. "What a coincidence. I'm the former Demon King who disappeared fifty years ago." ***+ The Demon King slept for ten years. When he woke, he found that the world had gotten back on track. The hero who defeated him ten years ago had been killed by the kingdom itself! Sweet justice! Just as he sat on his throne, swirling a glass of red wine and happily preparing to enjoy the beauties he'd collected, his subordinates stationed throughout the kingdom began to scream in agony. Two madwomen, shouting, "Give me back my husband/son!" had chopped them into minced meat... Before the Demon King could react, the gates of his castle were kicked open by the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Under the gaze of his archenemy and former superior, the Demon King immediately shoved the "Flower of the Kingdom" he was holding forward as a hostage. In the middle of the standoff, the new head chef, who had risen from prisoner to trusted aide thanks to his excellent cooking, walked by carrying a platter and called out to his former superior, "Mom." Demon King: ??? I don't understand this world anymore.jpg 1. Not a serious story, a silly comedy. 2. There are two female leads, Ofina and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Meili. They have equal parts, though the latter was sent away by the updated System and can't be brought back, sob. [See the author's profile for the other long adventure novel, "On the Legitimacy of Dying"] [Coming Soon] "The Earl's Daughter and the Lady Butler" Blurb: One cup of poisoned wine, two lives lost. To investigate the deaths of her father and brother, Leona takes up her father's scepter, assumes her brother's identity, and moves among various factions in search of the truth. Unfortunately, a maid discovers who she really is. The maid is beautiful and a skilled fighter. Her dessert-making is so good that Leona can't bring herself to kill her. So she makes no effort to hide the binding cloth across her chest, pins the maid against the corner of the room, and says, half threatening and half seductive, "Be mine, and you won't regret it." The maid looks at the leg braced beside her waist and decides it's time to shave her leg hair. A practical-minded deduction master x a cross-dressing assassin Note: 1. Set in a steampunk world. Episodic mystery and suspense. The blurb is provisional; I'm still debating it and may revise it. Theme: Love is good medicine, and so is food
