Forced to Be Reborn as an Insect

[Author's note on the completed novel]: My second completed danmei novel. I tried to focus more on the main plot, but the attempt fell flat because my writing and plot management weren't strong enough. The sluggish pacing is a major flaw, and the leads have little chemistry early on. Anyone who stuck around until the end is a true fan. [Covers face] Insect life is pronounced the same as rebirth. The usual rebirth story goes like this: a loser in life returns to the past and turns things around to become a winner. But for He Jing, it goes like this: an insect-world winner unexpectedly returns to the beginning of his life as a worthless bug, and all his efforts must start over from scratch. It's like playing a game where you're just one step away from a perfect ending, only for the game to jump back to the starting screen at the final choice, with every save file deleted. After spending many years as everyone's idol, He Jing suddenly becomes a worthless bug in the eyes of others again. Out of habit, he gives his long-unseen family a smile that his fans once called "the standard template for a gentle smile." But everyone instinctively avoids his gaze, and the whole family goes on alert. The whole family: Why is the little demon smiling at me today? Am I about to have a bad time?! He Jing: ...Sorry, I won't smile anymore. Announcement: This novel will be available to read by subscription on 2017.02.24 (Friday). Three chapters will be released that day. Mwah! Reading notes: (1) Insect-clan setting, with many females and few males. Male insects enjoy better social benefits. (2) Continues the "Wuxiang" setting from my previous novel, Tales of Insect Star. (3) Seme-centric, one-on-one, slice of life. (4) Content warnings: The romance is underdeveloped early on, the plot pacing is poorly handled, and the story drags. (5) Flashbacks are common, and the point of view switches between the seme and uke. (5) I first encountered the insect-clan setting in Fengxiang Yunzhi's The Future Insect Clan. Salute to the author who created this setting. Other works in the same series include The Rise of the Insect Clan, Blood of the Otherworld, and the latest, Insect Marriage. Recommended reading!
