The Unfeeling One Who Is Cherished

[This novel will be going premium on August 21. I hope you'll show it lots of support. If you love me, buy me an ice cream! This is a slow-burn story, so I hope you'll stick with it for a few more chapters.] - No matter whether they know Shen Danqiu or not, no one would deny that he has the face of an angel. Those who know him well call him an addictive fine wine, while those who cross his path heap every lovely word they can think of upon him. Only Shen Danqiu himself thinks --that beneath that bewitching exterior lies nothing but a twisted soul. -- Shen Danqiu says: “When I read Dazai Osamu's books, I feel that Dazai was actually a very gentle person. Because he was so gentle, he couldn't bear a world that was neither gentle nor right, and so he chose to leave it.” “But I'm different. If I act gentle, it's only to win people's love. I'm just someone who craves love.” “So I won't take my own life. Once you're dead, love disappears, and I couldn't bear that.” -- The protagonist is aloof, unable to love others but longing for their love. Fortunately, there are still people willing to love him. - His childhood friend says: [He's proud, cold, and self-centered. He's neither kind nor gentle, but... I still love him so much. I love the face God kissed, the vivid colors that surge from his brush, the voice that sweeps over me like a mountain breeze, and the life that comes alive in the instant he looks at me.] - The young heir who was his first love says: [My love for you is far from something that can be dismissed as “nothing special.” I still love you, and I always will. It's just... until I'm able to protect you, we can't be together.] - The gentle senior he meets again says: [You're often moved by how I look after you, but in truth, I'm the one who receives more care. Compared to how much you need me, I need even more to find meaning in being alive by doing things for you, A-Qiu.] The protagonist stays alive through love. We don't create love, we're just couriers who carry it. Encounters with different people, and experiences of family, friendship, and romance, help Danqiu grow. If Danqiu ends up with someone, it will be the person who understands all of him and still chooses to embrace him. -- My friend's male-lead novel: The Reputation of the Leader Dazai Is in Tatters by Xi Shiyi / The Blacklisted Leader Dazai's Struggle to Survive in Yokohama (A lighthearted, feel-good story in first person. If you like Dazai, jump right in!) - My friend's protagonist-receives novel: My Archenemy Made a Move on Me After Losing His Memory! by Benmeng Jutian / The Reborn Old Scumbag Made a Move on Me. (If you're an easygoing reader, give it a look! It's also a school story!) - My upcoming novel No. 1: The Scumbag Actor. A transmigrated male lead saves a heroine in a tragic romance and wins the hearts of young women. This will be my next novel. - My upcoming novel No. 2: The Last Dragon. A cute-pet fantasy danmei novel focused on plot, with a dragon as the protagonist. This premise is hard to write, so it'll be quite long. I may start it alongside my next novel, or after that one. P.S. The phrase “a world that is neither gentle nor right” comes from a popular comment on a song on NetEase Cloud Music. I can't find the original source anymore. P.P.S. The 1v1 pairing is already decided, but I don't recommend finding out in advance. The characters will grow and change.
