Tsurumi Shingi (Naruto: The Secrets of the Older Generation)

"Love, that thing that makes you fall at the first lie. Aren't the people who believe in it especially stupid?" Yakushi Kabuto tilted his head. Looking at the utterly devastated expression on Zhenyi's face, he spread his hands innocently and put on the gentle smile he used to love most. But anyone could see that there was something different in it now, something worlds apart from before. "Oh, that's right. I mean you."

"I mean Konoha."

"...Honestly, how childish."

A fanfic of a fanfic, based on Father's Secrets. The general setting is a timeline where Minato Namikaze never died, so everyone gets to live happily in this world. The male lead is an original character, and the pairing should be... Yakushi Kabuto?! Clean romance, a short story, with a little admiration for Shisui-kun on the side.

I originally wrote this as a gift for my favorite pairing and posted it as a long comment under the other author's story. I'm keeping a backup in my own collection.

...Will anyone believe me if I say this is a sweet romance?

That's a real question.
