A Certain Scientific Lunar Magic

When I was seven, I dreamed that my sister killed our entire family. When I woke up, I told my sister about it. She smiled faintly and praised me for being a very talented child. So, on the night she killed everyone in our clan, my sister took my hand and led me away from Mount Mikuri, where we'd lived since childhood. Because I told my sister, "I want to live," she let me live. After that, my sister entrusted me to the Witch. The Witch ran a beautiful shop that sold things you couldn't find anywhere else. Only a select few were allowed inside. The Witch was beautiful and kind, and I liked her very much, even if she could be rather mean sometimes. On the day we parted, my sister said she was sorry, and that we shouldn't live together. I was very sad, because my sister was my favorite person. But she said we'd meet again someday. The next time we met, I would kill her. I was happy. To make that day come sooner, I would eat well and study hard every day, and strive to become a magician more powerful than the Witch. No, a mage. Then everyone would surely be happy. -- Excerpt from "My Family," an essay by Naya Myorenji of Class 2-A at Teitan Elementary School Kudo Shinichi, who accidentally saw his seatmate's homework: "..." "First of all... murder is wrong. You must never kill anyone, no matter what." He gave her a dead-fish stare. "Also, don't write fiction in your essay. The teacher will scold you." "I'm not allowed to?" she asked. "Of course not," he said. "Human life is precious." At the time, the child wore an expression that suggested she understood, more or less. Still, she obediently nodded. Many years later, after having his worldview shaken by all kinds of lunatics from the Moon, Kudo Shinichi thought back to that conversation and felt a sudden, intense chill of dread. Who knew she meant every word!!! Are magicians really all this crazy?! Reader's Guide: 1. Happy ending. Shinichi is the male lead, and the canon pairing is broken up, so enter at your own risk. 2. The female lead's older sister is a manly big sister; that's not a typo in the blurb. 3. A crossover mainly featuring Detective Conan and Type-Moon, with a few obscure mystery and supernatural works I've read. Theme: Cherish life.
