The Item □□ Incident

All things have a spirit. Beneath the calm surface of human life, unseen schemes are at work. "Student caught red-handed when a cheating device flies out of their ear" "Overheated eye massager melts and detaches user's cornea" "BMW spontaneously explodes in the middle of the night, setting fire to an upscale residential complex" The fake feng shui organizer: Retreats to the mountains to draw talismans and cultivate inner peace, then descends to set up formations and exorcise demons, reading the Eight Trigrams for clients and warding off ill fortune. The real feng shui organizer, Yamashita Yasuko: Buys lottery tickets, lives in a castle estate, turns down troublesome jobs, and is always ready to sit back, snack, and watch the drama. The objects: Our boss got dragged into solving another case by the police today! Teramoto Gael: Solving cases is fine, but why are you using my name? A carefree, unreliable feng shui organizer x a cold, devious surgeon * The first arc is told in first person. * The setting is entirely fictional, and I mean really fictional, but it does include some Japanese-style elements. [Coming next: The Body Double Paradox] (The main story is not told in first person) I've lived for tens of thousands of years and caused plenty of trouble. So I deeply understand why secret identities are necessary, and I'm all for them. Really, having a secret identity is great, especially when you're dating. After causing trouble, just toss the identity aside and walk away without a trace. Saves you from getting tangled up with anyone. Besides, I'm not just powerful, I'm also very responsible. Whichever identity I wear, I do the job that comes with it. I've only had a few bad romances, and every one of them believed I truly loved them. The funny thing is, after I leave, they always seem to find someone like me to keep by their side. Ever heard of the God of War Le Zheng? He was my ex-husband, too, and the match was arranged by the Celestial Emperor. Sure, I was a secondary consort, but before he married his primary wife, it was just the two of us. I always knew that he saw me as a substitute. Every day after we were done, he'd gaze at me so tenderly that it was obvious he was looking through me at someone else. I put up with it for over a thousand years just to get my hands on the divine pearl in his palace. At last, he was going to marry a new wife. It was the perfect chance to escape while the heavenly soldiers and generals were distracted by the wedding feast and the guards were off their game. To get away from him, I couldn't take the underworld's reincarnation route, since it required registration. So I charged down the Divine Descent Platform, went to the mortal world, and was reborn in a fresh corpse. Later, I found out my new secret identity was living in a cold palace with awful food. No wonder that poor girl had wanted to die. Gradually, my new secret identity and my soul merged, and she began to look more and more like me. The emperor's gaze grew increasingly strange, and he kept visiting the cold palace every few days. The downside of changing secret identities so often soon became clear. I couldn't remember everything that had happened while I was wearing some of them, and I couldn't ask people whether they'd once had a thing with one of my secret identities. Worse still, the emperor's newly appointed Imperial Astrologer, who could summon the wind and call down the rain, looked exactly like my ex-husband Le Zheng. Theme: Seek the truth of life with all your heart, and work together to create meaning in it.
