Death doesn't always come with a desperate wish to borrow another five hundred years from Heaven. At least, Tang Xichun felt no such thing. Tang Xichun thought, I wonder if I'll go to Heaven or Hell. Amid a chorus of sobs, Tang Xichun waited for a messenger from Heaven, or the Black and White Impermanence. He had no particular attachment to this world. He supposed no one in this world would miss him, either. Stories about being reborn usually start with someone reborn among a bunch of scumbags: a scumbag father, a scumbag mother, a scumbag love interest, a scumbag partner, or a whole bunch of scumbag relatives. Naturally, the tough-as-nails protagonist who has been reborn makes it their mission to fight them all! Shitou wonders if there's another possibility: what if a scumbag gets reborn?
