Nothing Else on a Mature Night

[Complete. New story, She Will Not Fall, now underway. A writing exercise after a long break, so the quality is average. Read with caution.] The Shen family has a pair of twins, one surnamed Shen and one surnamed Ye. The elder son, Ye Enmi, fell out with his family at nineteen and left, never to be heard from again. Later, Sheng Lingwei grew tired of waiting and spent one night with his twin younger brother, Shen Enzhi. She didn't know Shen Enzhi had long harbored forbidden desires, enduring them for years until this night finally let him have his wish. The two kept each other at arm's length, their relationship delicate, and passed many years together in quiet contentment. Then one day, Ye Enmi came back. Shen Enzhi's long lashes flickered. He steadied himself and met her gaze with clear, bright eyes. "Can I tell him? That we've held each other and kissed?"* She fell silent for a moment, remembering the last time she'd passionately kissed Ye Enmi. He'd chuckled and asked her, "How did you get so good at kissing?" She lightly tapped his chest with a fingertip. "Your younger brother taught me." - The night was clear and cool as water, and the wind was damp. Sheng Lingwei sat on the edge of the bed, a new, dazzling ring on her hand. Its diamond sparkled like the moon shattered on the surface of the water. "Your younger brother proposed to me. I'm going to marry him." "Really?" "Really." Ye Enmi raised an eyebrow. "You chose him and don't want me anymore?" "Mm." His lips slowly curved, his voice still lazy. "What if I say no?" - #Open ending. Everything in this story is fictional and set in an imaginary world. Do not relate it to real life. Content warnings: Male virgin.
