The Stranger Beside Me

Like the opening of every story, Jian Xuying had a pair of childhood friends. They were twin brothers, so identical they looked like mirror images, indistinguishable from each other. But unlike the stories, she couldn't tell their two equally handsome faces apart at all. Whenever they played "Who's who?" she could only point at one and hope for the best. Strangely, the other one would always smile and tell her she'd guessed right. They would say, "Only Yingying can tell us apart." After hearing the lie often enough, Jian Xuying came to believe it. So she never knew she'd given her love letter to the wrong person, or that she'd mixed up the birthday gifts and the birthday boy. She also never knew that the one who put a ring on her finger back then wasn't the same person who gave her a goodnight kiss every night later on. Reading guide: 1. All male characters are virgins. 2. The heroine is clear about what she thinks at every step. She can't tell them apart because the twins deliberately mislead and deceive her. She never consciously chooses to be with both of them, in thought or in action. The twins both want a one-on-one relationship, see each other as mortal enemies, and keep score over every little thing concerning the heroine. They will never reconcile and only want to eliminate the other completely. 3. Both brothers believe the heroine is in love with the other one. 4. Everyone is a villain.
