A Certain Legendary Hunter

The story follows a disgraced assassin through a process of total mental and physical collapse: from split personalities, to [censored] separation, and finally to transformation. In the end, she becomes a queen of the underworld. She puts Nietzsche's famous words to the test with her life: A person's condition is much like a tree's. The more it seeks to grow upward toward the light, the further its roots must reach down, into the soil, into darkness, into the depths, into evil... A note to readers: This story aims to explore every possibility of the Hunter universe's Nen power system. It is not primarily a romance fanfic, so there is only romantic tension and no official pairing. At least, that was the plan. Later, on a whim, I added a few chapters of romance, and they turned into a love-triangle showdown. You can probably read them on their own, but please bring your own warning signs. Thanks. Also, I started writing this when I was single and finished after becoming a happily partnered person. That emotional journey had a serious impact on the story, to the point that the writing style and skill differ drastically between the earlier and later sections. The plot takes some wildly unexpected turns, so proceed with caution. Just so you know, this is also one of the reasons I have repeatedly revised the story and posted fake updates. I'm sorry. The second reason is that I have a terrible memory and keep going back over the plot. As a chronic perfectionist, whenever I spot a mistake or something I don't like in the earlier chapters, I naturally want to fix it. So... In any case, I'm sorry for the disruption caused by those fake updates. [Prostrates] If you've read this far and still want to start the story, I strongly recommend hiding the author's notes. They're just silly ramblings I left for myself to look back on later in life, so please don't read them! Awkward! Theme: Though the long night stretches on, sparks still shine, and travelers press onward along the rugged road.
