Splendid Lights Rise

Never before have I encountered such a splendid beauty, her crimson lanterns gleaming beneath a canopy of green.

When I wake, alone and stunned with longing, I wonder: how many levels deep in the celestial palace am I?

She, Shaoyao, has had only one person in her heart for a thousand years.

But he has long since been gone.

Three autumns, a thousand years, six lives and six lifetimes.

The red thread that seems to have been tied in error binds her and him fast, unseen by fate.

Across the eight wastelands and six directions, there is only this one person.

For millions of years, there has only ever been this one person.
