Lin Ting graduates from college and immediately becomes unemployed. With no other options, he takes over the flower shop his grandmother left him.
He does his best to care for every plant in the shop. One day, he’s watering the pothos with a spray bottle, one full bottle after another. He waters it three times in one day. Suddenly, a hand slowly reaches out of the flowerpot and grabs the spray bottle.
“Are you trying to drown me so you can inherit my flowerpot?”
As the voice rings out, a pretty young girl of about eighteen or nineteen climbs straight out of the pot.
“Holy crap, a ghost!!!” Lin Ting turns to run, but slender, resilient vines suddenly wrap around his waist and yank him back.
After that, strange things keep happening. Roses, hydrangeas, daffodils, wisteria, even cacti covered in thorns, one after another, take human form.
With a whole shop full of “plant employees” who need food and rest, Lin Ting can’t afford to keep so many people who do nothing. He can only rack his brains for ways to bring in customers and expand the business.
Soon, customers discover that:
The fresh-cut flowers he sells stay fresh and dewy even after a week, and last longer than those from any other shop.
The sachets he sells, tucked under your pillow, make you fall asleep in seconds and sleep soundly all night.
His flower tea is fragrant and sweet on the finish. Drink it for two weeks and your hair will be thick and glossy black.
As for his employees...
Not one of them is someone you want to mess with!!!
Business at the shop keeps growing. Lin Ting clears some space inside and opens a flower-art café, then rents the old house next door and turns it into a guesthouse.
Unexpectedly, as business thrives, more and more plants and flowers come to life in human form.
The once quiet, rundown old-town flower market slowly comes back to life under his care, turning into a viral online hotspot.
When Lin Ting first meets Gu Fei, the other man has a tall, straight build, broad shoulders, and a straight back. Silver-gray, thin-framed glasses accentuate his deep-set eyes, and his high nose is sharply defined. Though he’s only in his early twenties, he carries the air of someone who has seen everything life has to offer.
The employees in the shop immediately sense the pressure he brings with him. They all hurry off to hide in the back courtyard, not daring to show their faces.
Lin Ting alone feels an inexplicable familiarity with him, as if they were old friends who had known each other for years.
The rose beside him teases, “Be honest, are you lusting after his body?”
Lin Ting rubs his chin, the corner of his mouth curling into a mischievous smile. “A little, yeah.”
Hearing this, Gu Fei raises a hand and starts unbuttoning his shirt one button at a time. Firm, well-defined pectorals, clearly outlined six-pack abs, a lean waist, and a distinct V-line are all revealed before Lin Ting’s eyes.
Lin Ting swallows. “...You can keep your pants on, though.”
When Gu Fei was a child, he had a little flower. One day, he stayed out playing too late. It was the end of the world: his little flower was gone!
He spent years looking for that flower, never even seeing one exactly like it, until one day he walked into a flower shop and felt a long-missed presence.
Sweet romance, feel-good wish fulfillment, cozy healing, and chaotic everyday life.
