Qiu Jinxing had transmigrated into the body of a washed-up celebrity with no singing, dancing, or acting skills. All he had was a handsome face, and people called him the entertainment industry's most famous dropout.
Just as his career was going nowhere, his grandfather passed away. He returned home for the funeral, only for his family to foist a younger sister with Asperger's syndrome on him.
Asperger's syndrome is part of the autism spectrum. In the eyes of others, Qiu Jinyu was a fool.
At first, Qiu Jinxing was a little worried about how to get along with his special younger sister.
But later he realized that the problem was exactly the opposite.
What he needed to worry about was how to nurture a genius girl.
The siblings visit a planetarium:
Guide: "Our museum has the most complete collection of Long March rocket models. This is the Long March 3B..."
Qiu Jinyu, not yet five: "The Long March 3B has four liquid-fuel boosters attached to its base. This one doesn't."
She pointed to the simulated animation beside it. "The separation sequence is wrong, too. This is the Long March 7A. The boosters should separate at the same time as the first stage."
Guide: "..."
Onlookers: "!!!"
Someone posted the video online, and it immediately sparked heated discussion:
"You've got to be kidding. The famous dropout has a genius little sister?"
"Is this real? The kid looks only four or five."
"This is scripted, right? Are they trying to use his little sister to sell a genius image?"
It wasn't long before experts confirmed that everything Qiu Jinyu said was correct. The planetarium issued an apology overnight, and other science museums invited her to come and point out their mistakes.
Later, Qiu Jinxing took Qiu Jinyu on a variety show about raising kids. Along the way, he introduced her to local customs, taught her to express her happiness through poetry, and told her historical anecdotes...
The siblings lay in the desert looking for the Chinese space station together. His sister rested her head on his arm and declared that she wanted to become the first scientist to set foot on Mars. Her brother promised to take her to a spaceport to watch a rocket launch.
When the show aired, viewers were stunned:
"History, poetry, and anecdotes all roll right off their tongues, and you call him a dropout?"
"Lying in the desert watching the stars and listening to his sister talk about her space dreams. How romantic!"
"Good-looking, brilliant, one into the arts and one into the sciences. What kind of incredible siblings are these?"
"Her brother dotes on her so much. I want a big brother like that!"
But the brilliant, gorgeous siblings everyone else saw were like this to each other:
Qiu Jinxing: Xiaoyu talks about boosters every other word and fairings the rest of the time. She probably has no friends in kindergarten.
Qiu Jinyu: Xingxing is already twenty and doesn't even know C++. Is he stupid?
The younger sister studies hard to build weapons for her country. The older brother works tirelessly as an actor to support her dream of space exploration.
Theme: Protecting the light in a child's eyes is far greater than putting her on a pedestal.
