The Qing Imperial Physician's Beloved Everyday Life

Li Min, a doctor of medicine, woke up one day in the Kangxi era, having become an utterly ordinary junior imperial physician at the Imperial Medical Bureau. He had only wanted to devote himself to studying medicine and spread modern medical knowledge in ancient times. Who could have imagined... Kangxi: My chronic illness has flared up again. My head hurts, and my chest feels tight. Summon Physician Li at once! Li Min: He had a fight with his son and couldn't sleep. The Crown Prince: If Physician Li didn't brew this medicine himself, I'm not drinking it! Li Min: Children need coaxing. Put a pear-paste lollipop beside the medicine bowl. The Fourth Prince: Ow... I'm in danger of a bloody disaster! Physician Li, save me! Li Min: He cut his finger on a book. If I'd arrived any later, the wound would've healed. The Empress Dowager: Physician Li is handsome and knows just what to say. After chatting with him for a while, I feel half recovered. Li Min: This is too much. I'm a doctor of medicine, and yet I'm expected to heal people with my face! Later... Kangxi had a medical laboratory built for him in the imperial palace, gathered a group of foreign missionaries to assist him, and vigorously promoted first-aid techniques throughout the Forbidden City, including CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, and compression to stop bleeding.
