The Boss Really Isn't a Villain!

In all kinds of novels, bosses of every stripe are thrown in to help the protagonist rise to greatness. They might be the cold, ruthless, disabled CEO in a showbiz novel, the man-eating abyss in a cultivation novel, or the evil god demanding sacrifices from villagers in a horror story.

Early on, the protagonist is framed and offered up to the boss by their family, sect, or fellow villagers. They endure endless humiliation, claw their way out of a mountain of corpses, and ultimately kill the boss, completing their transformation.

The CEO, the Abyss, and the Evil God: "Could it be that I'm just a little mysterious because I'm expressionless, socially anxious, sharp-tongued, and keep to myself? I'm really not a villain!"

A socially anxious Abyss × a cultivation prodigy with completely crippled meridians

According to legend, the Abyss at the edge of the world was formed from countless millions of resentful thoughts. Anyone who enters is stripped of flesh and bone, their soul cast into a living hell with no hope of escape.

To stop their senior disciple, whose golden core had been dug out, from making a comeback, the sect threw him into the Abyss, hoping it would devour him completely and leave him forever beyond salvation.

Clutching a rock as he climbed, his eyes bloodshot and his fingers stained with blood, the senior disciple made a desperate plea to the Abyss:

"My lord, I am willing to offer you everything: my flesh and bones, my body and soul. Just take me in, as long as I can have my revenge."

The Abyss let out a piercing shriek: "Aaaah! Don't die in my house!!!"
