Reborn Seven Years Before My Lover's Death

Three years after Jiang Ya passed away from depression, Gu Bozhou went to visit his grave. The dashing second young master of the Gu family drank like a man who had lost everything. He downed two bottles of baijiu in front of the headstone, then vomited until he could barely see straight. Leaning drunkenly against the stone, he rambled between heaves, "Jiang Ya, I sent every one of those men who took advantage of you back then to prison. Qiao Si, Shen Er, Song San. I didn't let a single one of them get away." He rattled off a long list of names, all prominent figures in Jiangcheng. Over the past few years, the second young master of the Gu family had acted swiftly and decisively, uncovering one scandal after another involving sexual coercion and corrupt deals. He had sent half the city's rich young men to prison. But what good did that do? Through his drunken haze, Gu Bozhou thought, Jiang Ya would never come back. After passing out, Gu Bozhou opened his eyes again and found himself ten years in the past. Seven years before Jiang Ya's death. He sheltered the still-young Jiang Ya under his wing, giving him resources and money. Afraid of stirring up Jiang Ya's trauma and triggering his depression, he simply gave and asked for nothing. He didn't ask Jiang Ya to please him, flatter him, or give him his body. He only wanted to protect him. * Jiang Ya had the perfect sugar daddy. Gu Bozhou was young, handsome, and a gentleman. He stuffed Jiang Ya's hands with money and resources but asked for nothing in return. Jiang Ya knew it was because Gu Bozhou had a beloved who looked a lot like him. There was an entire room in Gu Bozhou's home filled with portraits he'd painted of his beloved. Gu Bozhou would often stare at Jiang Ya's face, lost in thought, yet wouldn't lay a finger on him. So Jiang Ya played the part to perfection, until one time, after a night of drinking, he and an equally drunk Gu Bozhou ended up in bed together. * When Gu Bozhou woke up, it felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck him. "I'm done for. What do you do when you've become the scumbag who took advantage of his wife?" When Jiang Ya woke up, he was devastated. "I failed to play the part. Is this relationship really going to end like this?" * Two idiots fall in love. Theme: Obey the law
