◇◇I work at the Gotham Gazette.
The editor-in-chief said he found me outside the newspaper office, along with a pair of glasses just like those worn by a famous reporter from nearby Metropolis. But I had no identity papers and no memory, so he was going to turn me over to the GCPD.
Then, just at that moment, I revealed a dazzling talent for writing the news. So the editor-in-chief took me in and put me on entertainment stories and villain interviews.
Over the next few months, I wrote about Batman and the passionate, tragic romances he shared with 44 Gotham villains; the love and hate between Bruce Wayne and various gang bosses; the stand-ins and replacements between several generations of Robins and the Wayne heir; and Luthor's tireless efforts to keep the Super family and the Bat family in a one-to-one ratio...
And I became a famous Gotham reporter who could stir up a storm of bloodshed and chaos with a single stroke of my pen!
Hooray, I made it!
Next, I'd be promoted to editor-in-chief, produce even more juicy Justice League gossip, help write everyone's love stories, and reach the pinnacle of life...
Then Bruce Wayne, the subject of hundreds of articles I'd written, found me and handed me a DNA report, saying he was my father.
My silence was deafening.
Bruce Wayne is my dad?
Batman is my dad?
Wait, why do I know Bruce Wayne is Batman?
Then I got caught up in a villain-related accident.
Then my memories came back.
I hadn't gotten a handle on my powers and accidentally blew up the Joker. My super-brain had only just remembered that I had superpowers, and I hadn't reinstalled the control system yet.
Conner asked, "You finally remembered?"
In a daze, I said yes, I remembered, Con, but there was a problem. Remember how I kept asking Clark where my other half of DNA came from, and he wouldn't say a word?
Conner said, "I don't think that's important. When I pulled you out of the incubation tank, I told you that what matters is the kind of person you want to become..."
Me: "It came from Batman."
Conner: "?"
Me: "Yes, Batman is my dad. But what's even more terrifying than Batman being my dad is that he'll be my boyfriend's father-in-law."
Remembering everything I'd written over the past few months, I said in despair, "How about we run away to space?"
Conner: "...That's called eloping."
P.S.
As you can see, Luthor foisted this son of Superman and Batman on them, and he got amnesia after colliding with a villain while fighting one.
The protagonist is the snarky type. The pairing is undecided, and it isn't Conner. No incest!
Theme: When paths cross, they will meet again; with enough effort, people can overcome fate.
