[Football] I Got Sold on My Own Merit

[Coming soon] [240,000 to 300,000 words in total] The perfect background music for this story: Prelude, by Andria Rose Luca Fioravanti’s career was spent bouncing from one major club to another. He was always being sold off, always ending up far from home, and always making people feel sorry for him. Club fans and player fans couldn’t understand why Luca was always being sold! They’d considered protesting and making a scene, but they’d never imagined the reason he was being sold was that he was hooking up with men in the locker room. Old Maradona, the biggest victim of 2002, passed by and kicked Luca. The Scottish old man who was stripped of two number sevens in 2005 kicked him, too. Someone later summed it up: “Luca Fioravanti has the looks, the stats, and the character. He’s got stats where his character should be, too.” * Luca Fioravanti was raised by his aunt, and he learned everything from her. That included how to be a well-behaved lover, a tender lover, and a cruel lover. He was used to disguising himself behind a mask, and his lips spoke nothing but tender lies. But once in a while, someone did earn his genuine affection. When the calendar turned to 2016, legendary defensive midfielder Luca Fioravanti retired. In the final year of his career, the beloved AC Milan captain led his boyhood club to victory in the Coppa Italia. On the day they won, a reporter asked him, “Is there anyone in particular you’d like to thank?” He was silent for three seconds, then said, “Yes. I’d like to thank someone very far away.” * Content warning: The romantic relationships are a huge mess!!! Basically one seamless string of one-on-one relationships, with no commitment after one-night stands. He’s dated enough people to fill a football team.
