The Dawn Squad became famous after taking on a lord-class monster in a one-on-one fight.
As the self-appointed backbone of the Dawn Squad, Orian is full of fighting spirit. He is determined to lead his teammates to the top of the continent, win a royal medal, and become a "great hero" celebrated by all.
This goal is no idle dream, given the talent gathered in the squad:
A genius mage with powerful bloodline gifts who prefers to swing a sword and hack at people;
A righteous knight bathed in holy light, the very model of his profession;
A temple priest beloved by the people, ordained at a young age;
A hot-tempered magic swordsman who relies on brute force and can overcome any technique with sheer strength;
A squinty-eyed ranger who sends fireballs flying everywhere and is even more of a mage than the mages.
With such "reliable" teammates, Orian's confidence is through the roof:
With a lineup like this, how could they possibly lose?
Everything goes smoothly. From small towns to cities, then from cities to the royal capital, the Dawn Squad's popularity keeps rising.
Sure, they do run into a few "minor problems," but with their squad's strength, they can handle those in no time!
But after spending more time together, Orian starts to sense that something is off:
Beneath his knight friend's kind exterior, he sometimes says things so cold they send a chill down your spine;
His priest friend shuts himself away at the end of every month, and the holy staff he carries seems to be faintly entwined with the aura of the undead;
His magic swordsman friend is surrounded by black mist and avoids holy power like the plague;
His ranger friend is always mysterious, appearing and disappearing without a trace, shrouded in secrets.
Orian isn't oblivious to the oddities. He just trusts his teammates.
Everyone has their secrets. He believes that, in time, they'll tell him on their own.
--It's not as if they'd go around killing people or setting things on fire, right?
So when his teammates are discussing how to dispose of a body in the middle of the night, Orian can calmly say:
"What is wrong with you people?"
--But his teammates betray his trust.
When they can no longer keep the truth hidden and their secrets are exposed one by one, Orian looks at his teammates and their "checkered pasts," then lowers his head to look at himself.
Only then does Orian realize:
So I'm the only decent one in the whole squad!
This is outrageous! No wonder trouble keeps coming after us! It's all your fault!
And what am I supposed to do about my royal medal?!!!
Later, when he sees his teammates "conspiring" to do bad things and dispose of bodies, Orian is able to take it in stride:
"That was quick."
#This family would fall apart without me#
#Oh no! I'm surrounded by four villains#
#What do I do if I'm the only decent one on the team? Guess I'll just deal with it#
//
A golden retriever-like, easygoing guy and his four "villainous" teammates. Pairings undecided.
Ensemble cast. They may be noisy and chaotic, but they're the strongest squad around.
Theme: Go save the world, you villains!
