By day, Jian Tingwan is a gloomy, nondescript student who sleeps through school.
By night, he's a handsome, capable support rookie at the Special Administration Bureau.
Both of these are Jian Tingwan.
But in truth, Jian Tingwan has a third identity: a transmigrator.
He transmigrated into a no-romance comic. The male lead fights monsters, levels up, and reaches the pinnacle of power, while Jian Tingwan transmigrated into the book halfway through reading the comic.
Other transmigrators seek power, change, and a chance to turn their lives around.
But Jian Tingwan is different.
Naturally lazy and sleepy, with no great ambitions, all he wants is to be an utterly ordinary background character. He'll stick close to the protagonist without drawing attention, stay alive, avoid trouble, lie flat, and get carried to a higher salary.
Ah, what a wonderful life!
Looking at the protagonist in front of him, Jian Tingwan felt his future was bright.
A mysterious rookie joined Raven Team Five of the Special Administration Bureau. He had decent support abilities, but he slacked off, refused to follow orders, broke the rules, and loved doing nothing. All he did all day was sleep.
Everyone thought he was useless. Since he was good-looking and his support skills were passable, they kept him around as a mascot.
Then, a year later, the deputy captain of Raven Team Five and Jian Tingwan were both transferred to Hound Team One.
Not long after that, Jian Tingwan went from being a rookie support to a core carry whom everyone adored.
After revealing his offensive capabilities, Jian Tingwan glumly and nervously guarded the last of his secret identities:
That's right, I'm a fragile little glass cannon with high damage!
But when he noticed the people all around him gazing at him with burning eyes, from all walks of life, in different factions, and tangled up in complicated relationships, Jian Tingwan was close to tears:
Please stop staring at me!
I'm really not cut out for this!
Jian Tingwan had no idea where things had gone wrong.
He was supposed to be an "utterly ordinary male side character."
But when he looked back, he found himself surrounded by a crowd of admirers, including the protagonist.
One day, Jian Tingwan was woken from a nap and forcibly dragged to a meeting by his superior.
Jian Tingwan arrived late. Half-asleep and still groggy, he watched as his foxily cunning superior suddenly put a hand on his shoulder and announced to everyone:
"Thank you, Mr. Tingwan, for taking part in this election. From today onward, Mr. Tingwan is our universally recognized savior!"
Jian Tingwan was jolted awake and froze on the spot:
Wait, how did I become the savior?
I don't want to be the savior!!!
