I Became the Savior After Losing My Memory

[Half-dead, deadpan bottom X Big-shot top with a brain full of office-worker vibes]

Huai Xu has lost his memory, has nowhere to go, and is penniless.

Luckily, he finds a night-shift job at a convenience store. The pay is daily, which solves his immediate money troubles.

Who knew that on his very first day, a customer would want to eat him?

The customer has a very good reason: "Everything in a convenience store is for sale. Why can't I eat the clerk?"

Huai Xu takes out the barcode scanner. "You can, but please pay first."

The customer can't afford him and dies of embarrassment.

Huai Xu remains expressionless. "Don't talk big if you can't pay."

The convenience store doesn't pay enough to give an ordinary person the good life, so Huai Xu takes on several more part-time jobs and encounters all sorts of strange people and events.

Following the principle that if you see enough weird things, weird things stop being weird, Huai Xu calmly handles it all and works hard. He not only gets a place of his own, but also finds a boyfriend.

The Linhai City Special Investigations Bureau discovers that the rate of paranormal incidents in the city is rising rapidly, yet the casualty rate is low. And every list of witnesses includes the same name: Huai Xu.

An investigation reveals that he's an orphan with an utterly ordinary past and no supernatural abilities, and that he's dating Wu Miao, the bureau's chief investigator.

To get to the truth, the bureau traces his movements all the way back to an empty intersection six months ago.

On the surveillance footage, Huai Xu is struck and run over by a truck. The driver flees, leaving him lying in a pool of blood, his head smashed like a watermelon.

A minute later, the blood flows backward and his bones return to place.

Huai Xu gets back up.

Wu Miao: Whew, good thing my husband is okay.

Colleague: ...Is that really the point?!
