Second chances, fake dating that turns real, childhood friends, devoted love.
Blurb One:
Wen Mingxue had always had one wish: to follow in her parents’ footsteps.
She wanted to visit the places her parents had been before they passed away. Unfortunately, her parents’ shadows loomed large, and their paths stretched so far ahead. After going to extraordinary lengths, she finally found a way to get closer to her dream.
This alarmed her family. They insisted she get married before pursuing her career. Wen Mingxue wanted to refuse, but her good friend Xu Jiahe said she might as well agree to go on a blind date.
So she joined the dating scene.
Under pressure from her family, Wen Mingxue reluctantly went on blind dates. She figured she’d just humor them and get it over with so they’d leave her alone.
Xu Jiahe thought the same: he’d just sabotage every match she got.
But then Wen Mingxue met an ideal candidate who was willing to cooperate with her.
Xu Jiahe regretted it. In a dim parking garage, he asked, “If you have to be with someone, why can’t it be me?”
Wen Mingxue was horrified. She knew what happened next might be impossible to undo.
But it was already too late to turn back. Xu Jiahe’s voice sounded beside her ear.
“…At least we were together once.”
Blurb Two:
It’s hard to imagine someone could be your first love, your second love, and your love again and again.
It’s difficult, but not impossible to imagine.
Still, as Wen Mingxue sat in the passenger seat, nervously glancing at the man behind the wheel and thinking about her aunt at home, one thought came to mind: Why does even a pretend romance have to be with him?
Xu Jiahe noticed her gaze. “What’s wrong, girlfriend?”
“This is fake,” Wen Mingxue reminded him.
Xu Jiahe smiled and leaned over to kiss her. “Yeah, yeah. Super fake.”
We can’t change the past or predict the future, so let’s love each other right now.
Theme: Heaven helps those who help themselves.
The two of them made me faint and scream like crazy (Dada is really good at writing). Some of the delicate expressions are completely unexpected. And I don't know why it has the atmosphere of a Japanese comic (very everyday but full of realistic romance). The dialogue between the two is also super cute and interesting. They have very similar souls. No wonder they can become friends + lovers. The most touching thing is the bond of "you have participated in countless important moments in my life" (put handcuffs on both of them!)
Why are there so few collections of such beautiful articles?
When can the two little bitter gourds reconcile 😭
How can two people be so cute!
The author's writing style is like taking a slow walk in the snow in winter. It's slow and beautiful.
It always feels like I'm telling the truth through a joke.
I just watched them eat. Although it is simple, I don't know why it tastes so good based on the author's description.
