Whether in winter or summer, I always sit by the window. My world is made of mountains and clouds. Sometimes a light rain falls on the eaves. I can't bear to blame it, because it has crossed mountains so towering that I could never cross them myself.
I used to think I would spend my whole life among these mountains and clouds.
I wondered if there might be some other meaning to life.
But what could it be? I couldn't imagine.
If you asked me what I wanted, I'd say, Please love me.
It was the one thing I longed for in this world, yet couldn't provide for myself. But in the end, it became a regret that would last forever.
When other people embraced, whether in joy or in pain, I couldn't imagine what it felt like.
The space between people was like the hazy place where mountains and clouds met.
Sitting by the window, I reached out to touch it. It was so far away that I couldn't even picture it.
Then one day, when I woke up, tears were running down my face. They crept slowly down my cheeks, drop by drop, as if they could no longer bear the weight.
I didn't understand.
As the tears fell, I could only look up. Slowly, I lifted my head.
I saw you. You stood before me.
What did you say? Oh, you told me my life had reached its end, and that you could take me away.
But you didn't know that in that moment, I suddenly understood.
The haze between mountains and clouds, the feeling in my heart when the rain came, the thing beyond anything I could imagine.
They were the two words written on the very last page of my life.
Falling in love.
