Lu Shiyuan, the only son of the Lu Group and worth billions, runs away from home to resist his family's arranged marriage, vowing to experience life as an ordinary person.

Xie Yunjian, a three-time major award-winning actor, was blacklisted for refusing to play along with casting couch demands. Saddled with tens of millions in contract penalties, he's an over-the-hill actor struggling to make ends meet.

The two bump into each other while making food deliveries.

Looking at the other's refined, chaste face, Lu Shiyuan's mind fills with frantic commentary: Is the food delivery business really this competitive now? With looks like that, he must be here to experience life!

Seeing the young man in a T-shirt that cost 39 yuan with free shipping, grinning without a care in the world, Xie Yunjian has just one thought: This kid is so poor he can't even afford a decent meal. I have to look after him.

So one pretends to be destitute, while the other really is destitute.

They each condescend to the other's circumstances, carefully protecting one another's pride.

Until one day, a budget travel dating show called Heartbeat Signal comes knocking:

"You two are the internet's top-voted 'poor couple'!"

Lu Shiyuan: "...What couple?"

Xie Yunjian: "...Are we that obviously poor?"

The comments flood in: Help! When are these two fake-poor husbands going to make it official?

This is a ridiculous story about "I was born rich, but pretended to be poor, and ended up falling in love for real."

Theme: One pretends to be destitute, while the other really is destitute.
