Forbidden to Fall for a Rich Heir

Lu Xingmian was famous at A University for being a spendthrift.

He wore 30,000-yuan sneakers to class, drove his Porsche to the cafeteria to buy lunch, and, whenever he was in a bad mood, rented out an entire Haidilao to treat the whole school. His only rule in life was eight words: If money can solve it, it's no big deal.

Then he met Gu Chenzhou at a Japanese restaurant.

The man wore a shirt washed nearly white, his sleeves rolled up to the forearms, revealing a wrist with clean, sharp lines. The corridor lights cut a striking profile against his pale, cool face as he looked down to check a delivery address. He was so handsome that Lu Xingmian's brain short-circuited on the spot, and he blurted out, "How much do you make delivering food for a day? I'll hire you for the day."

Gu Chenzhou looked up.

His gaze was cold and indifferent, like a lake frozen over in the depths of winter.

"You're sick."

Lu Xingmian's friends burst out laughing. Lu Xingmian himself was mortified. He thought he'd never see the man again, until three days later, when he went to inspect a construction site owned by his family's company (actually, his older brother had dragged him there to experience real life) and saw Gu Chenzhou hauling bags of cement under the blazing sun.

His shirt was soaked and clung to his body, the muscles of his shoulders and back taut as a fully drawn bow.

Lu Xingmian stood in the shade and watched him for a long time.

Then he opened the notes app on his phone and started drafting a contract.

Private Assistant Employment Agreement. Room and board included, monthly salary of 20,000 yuan. The only requirement: be available whenever called.

His reasoning was simple.

If he couldn't hire him to deliver food, he'd throw money at him instead.

But he didn't know that the moment he paid out those 200,000 yuan, he'd invited a wolf into his home and carried this iceberg back himself. This iceberg would later make him cry and laugh, and be the first person to make him realize that money couldn't solve everything.

I want lots and lots of love.

If I can't have that, then I want lots and lots of money.

But then you came along.

You don't have a penny, yet you make me want to give you the whole world.
