Why Is This Intern Like This?

(Diligent, down-to-earth working woman × sunny rich young man who's a wolf in sheep's clothing and a male chauvinist)

As the heir to Weike Group, Li Mingyi had enjoyed a charmed life for the past twenty-one years.

Brilliant and naturally skilled at handling people, he was unbeatable on the meritocratic track.

He'd only ever experienced rejection twice in his life.

The first time was during summer vacation, when he returned to China and applied for an internship on a project team at his family's company just to placate his parents. He was rejected instantly.

He forced his way onto the team, wanting to see just what sort of genius had turned him down.

When he met her, he smiled.

She was just an ordinary-looking, honest girl.

As he reached out to greet her warmly, he thought, So that's all there is to it.

Then came the second rejection, and it was from her again.

This time, he couldn't smile, because she'd rejected his confession.

At two in the morning, Shen An finished work. A sudden downpour began, and after waiting half an hour without managing to hail a cab, she silently broke down.

Damn this job, damn this rain. She was just an ordinary office drone, working herself to the bone for a paycheck. Why did she have to suffer like this?

A luxury supercar pulled up beside her.

The window rolled down, revealing a youthful, handsome face. It was the intern she'd been mentoring.

The intern offered enthusiastically, "Sister An, want me to drive you home?"

Shen An hesitated. "Wouldn't that be inconvenient?"

The intern smiled brightly. His young face still brimmed with energy in the middle of the night. "It's on my way. We can talk about the upcoming project requirements on the drive."

...Fine. It's all for work, so she got in.

But the intern's first question once she was in the car was, "Sister An, do you live alone?"

The heroine is stubborn and persistent, not very tactful or adaptable, but sincere, kind, and brave. The hero is obsessed with meritocracy. He puts on a friendly act, but is arrogant at heart, and is in for a harsh lesson.

And this story is, at its core, a fairy tale.

Theme: Sincere, kind people will have everything they could wish for.
