A Pearl Mistaken for a Fish's Eye

A prison of dust binds the body; a precious pearl is obscured by grime. The world wants you to be a fish eye. Who would ever see you as a pearl? This is a story about two people, or perhaps two dying fires, saving each other. Childhood sweethearts are separated when they are young. When they meet again, one has become an airhead and the other is half crippled. Each of them thinks that without them, the other would be completely doomed for life. The heroine is violent, taciturn, and not fond of thinking. The hero is crafty, but so poor at martial arts that one slash will knock him over. So this book is also known as *Why Don’t You Practice Your Martial Arts?* and *Why Don’t You Have a Brain?* (Struck through!) A rewritten old story, old friends meeting again. How delightful! Theme: There will always be a stretch of bad luck in life, when you, once full of dreams, suddenly fall into despair. Sometimes hitting rock bottom isn’t the scariest thing. The most painful thing is that you might start to doubt whether you deserve to dream at all. Don’t believe it. Don’t give in. You are a precious pearl. Even if you’re temporarily covered in dust, one day you will shine across the mountains and rivers for thousands of miles.
