“Attorney Higuruma, you used to complain that all your clients were vampires. Now look at yourself: 102 points... Have you become a serial killer in this Culling Game?”
He remained expressionless. “Take the defendant’s seat. I can pass judgment right now on your past crimes of helping a conglomerate manipulate the market.”

T University’s law school has two legends that never fade.
Higuruma Hiromi and Igarashi Chizuru, who have held the top two spots in their program year after year, are bitter enemies in moot court, and the lovers who kiss most fiercely in the empty study room late at night.
Until graduation season.
The idealistic Higuruma chose to serve the poor, becoming a court-appointed lawyer scraping by on a meager income. The realist stepped into a prestigious law firm, becoming a corporate lawyer who exhausts herself handling capital transactions.
“Higuruma, your sense of justice isn’t worth a thing in this country.”
Those were the last words she left him.
Neither proud young person looked back. It was an impeccably dignified breakup.
Until the Culling Game descended on Tokyo.
Social order collapsed, and law and morality were ground to dust.
When she entered Ikebukuro in this killing game to survive, she saw the most unbelievable sight.
Her ex-boyfriend, once so upright he seemed almost stubbornly so, was now slumped in a dry bathtub, his eyes full of devastation and self-loathing.
The gavel rose high, and his domain burst open: “Deadly Sentencing.”
His former lover became the accused.
But the gavel never fell.
In that cramped bathtub, they kissed and bit at each other, ferocious and desperate.
“You killed someone. You’ve become the very monster you used to hate most.”
When the kiss ended, she pressed her forehead to his and smiled, wiping the blood from his lips.
“Congratulations, Attorney Higuruma. Now you’re just as dirty as I am.”
[Note]
1. I’m completely obsessed with Higuruma, and writing him feels so natural, so I impulsively opened preorders for this one!
2. The heroine’s characterization as a corporate lawyer and a sophisticated egoist, along with the rekindled romance trope, probably won’t change, but I’ll keep developing the other details. It’s like my previous Toji fic: when I first opened preorders, it only had the heroine’s capitalist characterization and the sugar-daddy setup. Later, I added elements like her business war with the Big Three Families, the heroine mistakenly thinking the male lead was weak, the male lead winning himself over, and taking in Oda Sakunosuke, Dazai, Higuruma, Geto, and others.
3. I’m not a law major, so I’m a little nervous about this, desu. I’ll do my research before I start!
