[Spain] Roses of Madrid and the Colonel

Historian x Officer

A historical spin-off about the Spanish Civil War~

[1]

In the autumn of 1936, the flames of war draw close to Madrid.

The Prado Museum receives a secret order: smuggle the 1605 first edition of Don Quixote to Valencia.

This difficult task is entrusted to Rosa.

[2]

Colonel Sanchez believes that only men who fight on the battlefield can be called heroes.

But he has to admit that he is no hero anymore. He is a pathetic deserter.

A useless deserter escorting Madrid's rare treasures.

"Colonel, I don't need you," Rosa says, her eyes burning with fury, blood running down her forehead. "Go on, get to your front line, that damned front line that has nothing to do with us!"

The colonel crouches down, encloses her hand in his, and kisses her soft lips and the tip of her nose, then the blood at her temple. "I'll stay here..."

"I'll stay by your side forever."
