In the age of declining magic, cultivation has become a distant thing for ordinary people. The few remaining cultivators are only a little more capable than everyone else.
No one could have imagined that, in this era of depleted spiritual energy, an ancient magical artifact passed down from antiquity would develop a mind of its own.
"Could you repeat the name of your true form?" 270 asked politely.
Ming Yaocai: "A thousand-year-old peachwood bagua mirror, struck by lightning."
270: "What kind of wood?"
Yaocai kindly repeated, "A thousand-year-old lightning-struck peachwood tree."
270: ...?
So you're saying you're an artifact that became sentient, and because you calculated that you had a bond to continue in another world, you crossed the boundary between worlds to come to one where the spiritual energy is so low you could starve to death?
He wondered if this was supposed to be some kind of novel!
Yaocai: "So, could you let me grow some grass? I'm really going to starve to death."
She never imagined that after thinking she'd already had it bad being half-starved all the time, she'd nearly starve herself out of her true form just trying to continue a bond. This world was treating her far too harshly.
"By the way, who is this person you're bonded to?" 270 couldn't help asking.
Yaocai pointed. 270 looked and froze. Wait, why was it their youngest brother?
Notes
The final book in the Katekyo series, L's gen fic with no romantic pairing. The old ancestor (even older than the first generation) is here!
The heroine's code name is 17, and her feelings for the young cow are maternal love (thumbs up).
This book leans toward serious drama. Warning: Byakuya destroys the world, causing the original characters to die, but they'll all come back in the end. I write sweet stories, after all!
The protagonists from the first three books will appear. From the middle onward, this book focuses more on the ensemble cast. It's also the last book in the Katekyo series, and will tie up loose ends from the first three books. The protagonists' circumstances will be explained in the author's notes, so I'll do my best not to disrupt your reading!
(It was originally meant to be one book in four volumes, but the author couldn't manage daily updates to finish it in one go, so it was split into four books.)
Theme: Platonic relationships are the best.
