My Blade's Scabbard Is Quite Useful

(Completed)

The new emperor, Zhao Yuan, is a rogue who clawed his way out of a mountain of corpses.

Everyone at court knows that His Majesty's favorite pastime is provoking Yan Han, the iron-faced, incorruptible, icy commander of the Imperial Guards.

Zhao Yuan thinks Yan Han is an inflexible block of wood.

Even when Zhao Yuan teases him until his ears turn red and his breathing goes ragged, he assumes it is merely the humiliation and helplessness of a subject.

Until one night, Zhao Yuan climbs over a wall and accidentally stumbles upon Commander Yan's secret.

In the austere commander’s bedroom is a well-hidden compartment.

Inside are not offerings to the gods or military tokens.

Instead, it holds calligraphy Zhao Yuan ruined while practicing, an old cloak he used to wear, a piece of silver he casually bestowed, and even a faded old hair ribbon.

And that cold, arrogant, merciless living demon who prowls the palace by day is sitting in the darkness, pressing that old hair ribbon tightly against his lips.

His eyes bloodshot, he calls Zhao Yuan's name with desperate restraint and insatiable longing.

Zhao Yuan: "..."

Oh no. It seems I may have stoked a fire.

[Irreverent, flirtatious emperor gong x self-restrained commander shou who loves him desperately]

[Reading Guide]

1. Gong-focused, one-on-one, each other's first love, happy ending.

2. The gong is stunningly beautiful and irresistibly charming. He seems unserious, but is actually scheming and ruthless, with an intense need for control. The shou is at the peak of martial prowess, but before the gong he is an extremely humble, devoted dog, deeply in love and restrained.

3. One-sided love at first, with the shou secretly in love with the gong, then they fall for each other. Lots of intense push and pull, secret identities exposed, and jealous love-triangle showdowns.

4. The gong spoils the shou, and the shou spoils the gong. Readers with extreme preferences, beware.
