Jiang Shuyan x Yue Bai
Super-strong, farming-obsessed, utterly straightforward woman x proud, reserved snow leopard
[Blurb]
Transmigrating only to be exiled? What kind of hellish start is this?
Jiang Shuyan looked at the boundless desert before her.
She fell silent for three seconds.
Then her eyes lit up.
Wait, this soil's pH... these day-night temperature swings...
Isn't this the medicinal-herb paradise I've dreamed of finding my whole life?!
A hopeless herb fanatic, Jiang Shuyan felt she hadn't been exiled at all. She'd been sent to her happy place.
Her identity? Sorted.
A place to stay? Sorted.
Happily slinging her tools over her shoulder, she headed into the desert, her mind full of all the precious medicinal herbs she could find.
But instead of herbs, she came across something that absolutely shouldn't be in a desert.
Jiang Shuyan rubbed her eyes.
Wait, a snow leopard???
A snow leopard with silvery-white fur, like frost, lay on the scorching sand, looking like a scoop of ice cream on the verge of melting.
Aren't snow leopards supposed to live in the mountains? What was it doing in the desert?
The snow leopard was nearly dying of thirst, too weak to even lift its head. It gazed at her with beautiful, pale blue-gray eyes.
Without a word, Jiang Shuyan gave it all the water she had.
Thank goodness she was super strong. She carried the half-dead snow leopard home.
Jiang Shuyan figured she'd saved the poor thing's life, and that once it recovered, it would leave on its own.
But after it got better, the snow leopard not only stayed, it brazenly made itself at home.
Every day it flopped down in the courtyard, swished its tail, and gave her a look that said it wanted water and meat.
Jiang Shuyan: ...Did I save you, or did you save me?
And then things got even stranger.
Ever since the snow leopard arrived, her life had suddenly started going smoothly.
The rival who'd been giving her trouble inexplicably came to apologize;
The person who'd been underpaying her for medicinal herbs suddenly showed up offering a high price;
Even the ramshackle little house she'd worked so hard to fix somehow became warm in winter and cool in summer.
Every morning, the snow leopard, despite having gone to sleep in the courtyard, would be in her bed when she woke up.
And her lips and cheeks always felt strangely sore.
Jiang Shuyan scratched her head. Was the desert really this dry?
She didn't think much of it, and went on living her days in the ancient world, raising a leopard and farming.
Life grew more and more comfortable, and before she knew it, another summer had arrived.
The desert was as hot as a steamer. Jiang Shuyan was sweltering in just a thin shirt, yet the snow leopard still lay in the courtyard, fluffy as ever, lazily swishing its tail without even sticking out its tongue.
At last, she voiced the question she'd been holding back for ages. "Wait... aren't you hot?"
At this rate, the snow leopard would die of heat.
Jiang Shuyan gritted her teeth and made a painful decision: she would take it back to its home in the snowy mountains.
She carried the snow leopard for ten days and nights, finally reaching the snow line. She set it down on the cold snow, patted its head, and turned to leave.
A voice came from behind her, cool and plaintive.
"Are you going to abandon me too?"
Jiang Shuyan spun around.
There was no snow leopard on the snow anymore.
A beautiful white-haired woman stood in the blizzard, her pale blue-gray eyes filled with reproach.
Jiang Shuyan's brain completely shut down. "..."
The white-haired beauty took a step toward her, leaving a trail of bare footprints in the snow.
She lifted her head and said with a perfectly straight face, "You kissed me. You have to take responsibility."
Jiang Shuyan: ???
When did I kiss you???
