After My Nemesis Mistook Me for His Dead Wife

As a High God of the Ninth Heaven, Xuan Xiangyi had never known hardship.

Except for that one time when Zhexuechao locked her in a golden cage where not a ray of light could reach.

From then on, Xuan Xiangyi and Zhexuechao became enemies, until Zhexuechao descended to the mortal realm to undergo a trial.

Xuan Xiangyi went into seclusion, too.

When she emerged, Xuan Xiangyi thought Zhexuechao had let bygones be bygones with a smile. Instead, Zhexuechao had grown even worse, hounding and provoking her like a ghost that refused to let go.

Xuan Xiangyi couldn't understand why, until she accidentally saw a portrait of Zhexuechao's deceased wife from her mortal trial.

The woman's features looked about seventy percent like hers.

Xuan Xiangyi finally understood. Zhexuechao had become more and more twisted because she was looking for a chance to cut out Xuan Xiangyi's heart and resurrect her dead wife.

A hundred years in the mortal world passed like a dream. Trapped in her trial, Zhexuechao couldn't bear to let her wife's soul scatter, so she went alone to the Underworld, only to find herself named Xuan Xiangyi.

Xuan Xiangyi was born of Heaven and Earth, and had been a High God from the moment she came into being. She was utterly unlike Zhexuechao, who had endured a thousand tribulations before finally ascending to Heaven.

Zhexuechao had always been at odds with her. When she learned that Xuan Xiangyi was the person sharing her trial of love, she was struck as if by lightning.

Worst of all, Xuan Xiangyi had forgotten everything.

She laughed and chatted happily with others, while avoiding Zhexuechao as if she were a venomous snake.

Zhexuechao was unwilling to accept it. She was furious. She was going mad.

She remembered the golden cage that had once held Xuan Xiangyi captive. Perhaps it could imprison a god.
