Dangerous Liaisons of a Genius Racer

Everyone knows him as the undefeated genius driver of Mount Akina, but no one knows he has a dangerous turn hidden in his heart: Kyuuwasaki Izumi, who stayed at his house that summer.

She was older than him, dazzling and carefree, the daughter of his father's old friend, and a clear yet tempting line he shouldn't cross.

She would share flavors he'd never experienced at a convenience store late at night, and when he was at his lowest, she would offer him a silent embrace that crossed the line.

Her camera and her presence were the measure by which she gauged a safe distance.

He couldn't tell whether she was looking after him or drawing him in another way.

He only knew that when her camera was pointed at him, he lost control more than he ever did on any turn.

"Takumi, there are rules between us that we can't cross."

But when the 86 blew its engine and youth came to an end, he resolutely set off for the distant world of professional racing. The figure he thought had long since disappeared showed up once more in the glow at the finish line.

It turned out the most dangerous turn had never been the hairpin in the Five Consecutive Hairpins.

It was that he'd left the "No Overtaking" warning behind long ago.
