Jiang Wei is a max-level Stardew Valley player. With new mods coming out all the time, she loves the game deeply.
Then one day, after installing too many mods, the game crashes and wipes her save. A friend sends her a new mod and asks if she still wants to play.
Jiang Wei: "...I'll play."
The new mod opens up an entirely new map and adds new characters. It even has opposing factions, though unfortunately, you can't choose an opposing faction at the start.
Jiang Wei starts gathering progress all over again. In spring, she randomly finds scattered red spider lilies on the map. In fall, she digs up sweet potatoes and radishes, then puts all the dishes she makes into her backpack.
There are no guides for the new characters, and she doesn't know what they like, so Jiang Wei can only try things out one by one. Then, by accident, she gives a red spider lily to Muzan, and his affection goes up by three hearts.
Jiang Wei: ! You can raise the affection of characters in the opposing faction too!

Jiang Wei accidentally crafts a faction-change stone, but a pop-up says the target is invalid. She tries it on one person after another, but never gets a message saying it worked. Just as she thinks the System has a bug, she switches weapons while fighting Doma, a mini-boss in the Infinity Castle mine, and accidentally switches the faction-change stone into her hand. The System displays a prompt:
[Change factions? Changing factions will consume 1 faction-change stone.]
So that's how it works! So that's how it works!

At the Demon Slayer Corps, Sanemi Shinazugawa meets a strange new recruit who always seems to pull a hagi-mochi out of nowhere and offer it to him whenever they run into each other. The most ridiculous time, he opens his door to find her holding out a hagi-mochi. Who knows how long she had been standing there.
...Could she not knock?
Later, she gains free access to his estate, and soon after, his home is filled with barrels for brewing alcohol.
Sanemi Shinazugawa: ...The nerve of her!!!
After getting used to Jiang Wei coming and going like a bandit, Sanemi realizes, as he heads out on a mission one day, that he hasn't seen that strange recruit in quite a while.
Then he discovers she's somehow joined Muzan's ranks!

Jiang Wei loves going down into the Infinity Castle mine, but whenever she runs into the boss named Muzan Kibutsuji, six mini-bosses gang up on her.
The worst part is, she can't beat them. Thankfully, the one called Akaza never attacks her, but the one called Doma attacks her all the time.
When her health is nearly gone, Doma keeps attacking. Jiang Wei watches helplessly as she drops 10,000 gold coins, 13 hagi-mochi, and 1 red spider lily.
All right, all right, stop dropping stuff! I'm going to lose everything I own. I won't mine anymore, okay? ...Wait, why did they stop fighting?
*The female lead plays the game on her phone at first, then transmigrates into it later.
*When her health is nearly gone, she won't reload a save. She'll keep dropping materials until she's lost them all.
*The male lead is still Sanemi.
Theme: Stardew Valley is so much fun!
