I'll start posting once I've built up enough chapters for the paid section~
The night before, Ruan Dongjing watched a post-apocalyptic AI short video and blurted out, "These videos are so low-budget. One glance and I need to go on a diet. If the apocalypse comes, I won't choose any of these. Even a dog wouldn't want them!"
The next morning, when he opened his eyes, the apocalypse hadn't come to Earth. But Ruan Dongjing had transmigrated to Skyball, where the apocalypse had begun eight hundred years ago.
The oceans were flooded, the continents scorched by extreme heat, the forests drowning in torrential rain, and the frigid regions plagued by year-round blizzards. Aside from humans, everything seemed perfectly suited to life here: murderous vines, ancient giant snakes, and post-apocalyptic sandworms all thrived.
The native human population had dwindled to less than one in ten, and those who survived had developed all kinds of mutations. Some could run as fast as cheetahs; some could lift a whole building with their bare hands; some could transform into beasts over ten meters tall; and some could even control the forces of nature.
Ruan Dongjing, meanwhile, was still just a frail, ordinary human from twenty-first-century Earth. Years of overtime, takeout meals, and revenge-fueled all-nighters had turned his body into that of a feeble corporate workhorse.
The one stroke of luck was that his AI-generated silly-video ability had come with him.
Unfortunately, his ability seemed even more low-budget than the AI videos themselves. He had to scavenge the raw materials, and whatever it produced was worse than what the AI in the videos could make.
Worse still, many of the things it created only lasted a limited time, and he could make a wish for something new only once a day.
To survive, Ruan Dongjing had no choice but to put on his authentic AI Chinese accent, spread his arms, and shout at the sky every day: "In the freezing snowfield, which house would you choose to live in?"
A shriveled potato house, with nothing but a thin layer of potato skin for walls. A gust of wind could blow the whole thing away;
A house made of somewhat mutated organs, with a blood-like sticky blanket draped over a black iron bed. A fire burned beside it, but gave off no warmth and might even poison you;
A soft dog-fur house, with warm dog hide lining the walls and even a cozy little blanket, though it was only big enough for an underage puppy...
Ruan Dongjing was furious. He threw the last piece of flatbread in his hand and shouted, "The apocalypse is here! Choose your preferred way to die!"
Haha, just kidding. He was so hungry he wanted to die, but didn't have the strength to hang himself.
Fortunately, as long as he collected enough things, he could build up energy and upgrade his golden finger.
A single stone could turn into three castles, complete with climate-controlled food storage and an armory;
He could create a train out of thin air that ran without tracks, with a dining car that served unlimited food;
He could even get weapons from a magical world with supernatural powers...
For the sake of a better life, Ruan Dongjing snuck around with his cats and dogs, scavenging junk and stockpiling resources. He pushed through his embarrassment and practiced his AI announcer voice every day, shouting at the sky and earth. And he racked his brains to design the perfect home...
Life was hard, but he found joy in it. He also discovered the beautiful side of this cruel world: breathtaking scenery, beautiful and sincere emotions, and a handsome, beautiful supplier?
Wait, excuse me, Mr. Handsome Supplier. Please behave yourself. This is a cold, hard business transaction. I sell my skills, not my body!
Yan Cixuan smiled. "Why so heartless, Dongdong? The cold, hard marketplace can't get you food, seeds, or even medicine."
Ruan Dongjing raised his gun. "That's true, sir. But you can't get a hidden shelter, an armory, or even magical creatures anywhere else, either. So, if we want to keep working together, get away from me. And put your hand back where it belongs!"
Yan Cixuan raised his hands helplessly. "How about this? You take a step back, and I'll take a step back, and then..."
The Earth is round, and so is Skyball. If they both kept stepping back, they'd end up in the same bed.
Marriage is here. Choose your love nest:
A hard peanut house, with all kinds of strangely skimpy outfits hanging beneath the red curtains; an elegant water-ball house, with a soft, comfortable bed that perfectly follows the body's curves; a shriveled longan house, with a hard bed but apparently enough room for its occupants to have endless stamina...
Yan Cixuan looked thoughtfully at Ruan Dongjing. "So this is the style you like, Dongdong? Then let's choose all of them!"
Ruan Dongjing's ability suddenly went out of control again. He angrily kicked the houses aside. "Let me explain! No, wait, hear me out..."
