The King Put Up for Auction

[Draft title, may change later, same idea]

Little bird, little bird, fly bravely. Break free from your cage and never look back.

Qing Yu lived in an attic for thirteen years. He went from that cramped little room to a vast house filled with lights, open and completely unguarded.

They called it an auction house. After his owner went bankrupt, Qing Yu was put up as collateral.

His chains dragged him stumbling into the spotlight. That night, the featherfolk boy sold for the staggering price of three hundred billion.

He arrived at his new home, with his own dishes and bed, and a new ankle ring.

The little bird couldn't understand talk of pets or lovers. Delighted, he sat on the lap of the most imposing man there and let him feed him.

Only the strong are allowed to touch the little bird. That's what Daddy said.

Qing Yu was very obedient.

His new owner wasn't strong enough. He wanted this one.

Theme: A cage can't keep a free bird locked away.
