I Became the Cannon Fodder Ex-Wife of the Chief Minister

Ye Xiao wakes up to find herself transmigrated into an imperial-examination novel as Wen Yu's cannon-fodder ex-wife.

The cannon-fodder is arrogant and domineering. When the female lead falls on hard times, she not only treats her coldly, but also pushes her into a lotus pond one winter over a trivial matter.

As a result, the female lead develops a chronic illness caused by the cold.

Even later, after she becomes chief councilor, the illness flares up every winter, leaving her in agony.

As for Ye Xiao, the cannon-fodder ex-wife, she meets a miserable end. In winter, she is bound and left to soak in a pond, where she freezes to death.

Ye Xiao arrives just as the female lead falls into the lotus pond.

For the sake of her own future survival, she jumps in without hesitation and rescues her.

Born with a do-gooder System, she earns merit by performing good deeds and keeps exchanging it for precious medicine to help the female lead recover, caring for her in every possible way...

Much later, the female lead, now chief councilor, is completely cured of her cold-related illness.

Ye Xiao hands over the divorce agreement she prepared long ago, making way for the original novel's second female lead.

She assumes the female lead will agree to the divorce without a second thought, but the agreement is torn to shreds instead.

"I won't agree! Ye Xiao, don't even think about leaving me!"

Wen Yu's eyes redden, and an obsession unlike anything ever seen before appears on her usually cool face…
