Top-Tier Actor [Hong Kong]

Si Yaoguang, the most popular Cantonese opera star in Hong Kong in the 1950s, transmigrates to the 1990s.

When she opens her eyes, she finds herself sleeping in a cramped, shabby subdivided flat.

Si Yaoguang: "..."

Back in the day, Si Yaoguang was a beloved idol throughout Hong Kong. People on both sides of the Xiangjiang River affectionately called her "Sister Si."

But now, she's just a washed-up young drifter who never knows where her next meal is coming from.

Never mind. She can always start over.

Starting out as a minor extra, Si Yaoguang works her way up to become a top TV actress, a film queen, and finally the brightest international superstar in the sky.

"Little Scene"

A Lantern Festival TV gala, one year

The program lineup is revealed early: superstar Si Yaoguang will perform as a male lead in a Cantonese opera.

The granddaughter excitedly recommends her idol to her family: "This is Si Yaoguang's first time performing in an opera! I didn't know she could sing Cantonese opera too! She's unbelievably talented!"

Her grandfather scoffs. "Cantonese opera? Can a young woman really sing it properly? It takes more than ten years of hard training to master those skills. Back in our day, the opera stars..."

The granddaughter covers her ears. "I'm not listening, I'm not listening."

On TV, the scene changes. Si Yaoguang appears in full opera makeup, dazzling the audience with her entrance and stunning everyone with her first note.

The granddaughter feels incredibly proud and turns to see what her grandfather will say. But when she turns around, she is stunned.

At some point, her grandfather has started weeping uncontrollably, his white beard trembling as he cries!

The whole family panics and crowds around the old man, fussing over him.

After a long while, the old man chokes out, "I... I think I just saw Sister Si come back to life!"
