Gloomy, aloof, world-weary bad-boy bottom x brazen, devoted ghost top
Shen Lin gets a phone call late at night. The caller is from the hospital's intensive care unit.
The doctor says the phone's owner listed him as their emergency contact.
And the phone's owner turns out to be his ex-boyfriend, Chen Ke.
Chen Ke was in a car accident. He's dead.

Office drone Shen Lin has to attend counseling every so often. When his therapist asks how he's been lately,
Shen Lin immediately thinks of the hallucinations he keeps seeing.
Whenever he gets up for water in the middle of the night, he sees a shadowy figure busy in the kitchen. When he goes to the bathroom, the doorknob always turns. Even when he's taking care of himself at night, the video on his phone inexplicably goes black.
After hearing his description, the therapist's diagnosis is:
Shen Lin's depression has gotten worse.
It's now so severe that he's having hallucinations and imagining a virtual companion.

When Shen Lin gets home, he finds, to his horror, that the dining table is covered with his favorite dishes, all steaming hot.
He immediately calls his therapist. "Doctor, if I'm seeing my dead ex-boyfriend, does that mean my condition is getting worse?"
Yes, he's staring at the man sitting on the living room sofa, eating popcorn, and feels as if he's been struck by lightning.
Chen Ke, who should have been dead for three months, is sitting perfectly fine on the sofa, his short hair falling over his forehead. His handsome features are no different from when they broke up.
The call ends with a string of beeps.
Chen Ke turns around with a grin and greets Shen Lin. "Hey, hubby. I've become a housebound ghost."
That's right, it's really Chen Ke.
Only he would be this shameless.

To calm himself down, Shen Lin now sits on the steps below his apartment every day after work to smoke.
He hasn't quite gotten used to having his ex-boyfriend around every minute of the day. Chen Ke is even more controlling now than he was when they were together.
But just then, a cold gust of wind blows behind him.
A chilly body presses against his back, and a soft, icy touch lands on his left ear.
It's Chen Ke. The man tilts his head, his tone impossible to read. "Hubby, didn't I tell you that you're not allowed to smoke anymore?"
Shen Lin jolts. "What the hell! Aren't you a housebound ghost?"
How can a housebound ghost leave the house?
In the middle of the night, Chen Ke looks down at the man sobbing and gasping for breath on the big bed. His eyes are rimmed red as he bends down and trails cold kisses over Shen Lin's body.
Hubby, I'm your housebound ghost.
