Sickly, pampered, troublemaking beauty of a cannon-fodder bottom × gloomy, devoted-guard-dog villain top
Yun Huai is a Taoist priest who likes to swindle people. Someone offered him a hefty sum to exorcise a ghost.
The haunting involved a forum post. Supposedly, everyone who clicked on it met a gruesome death. Yun Huai didn't believe any of that, of course, and swore he could handle it because he wanted the money.
But later, he realized the post really might be haunted!

When Yun Huai opened his eyes again, he found himself wearing a British-style uniform, a gem cufflink fastened to its exquisite sleeve. He was standing in a luxurious bathroom, surrounded by a crowd.
Then he heard the System come online.
[Congratulations, Host! You have drawn a cannon-fodder identity card. From now on, play your role well and do your best to survive!]
Yun Huai froze. Through a gap in the crowd, he met the gaze of someone on the floor.
The person's face was bruised and swollen, yet showed no sign of pain.
The owner of that face was staring straight at Yun Huai, as if he wanted to eat him alive.

There are nine worlds in all, and Yun Huai is the unluckiest person in every one. When he saw yet another identity card labeling him a vicious cannon-fodder character, he completely lost it.
Yun Huai: Excuse me, am I in danger of dying here?
But the next second, a figure appeared from the darkness, covered in wounds but staring at him with burning intensity. Those crimson eyes were both frenzied and reverent.
Yun Huai remembered him: the terrifying final boss he'd tormented for all nine worlds.
In desperation, he grabbed a stick nearby and slammed it into the Boss's head. Just as he thought he was about to be torn to pieces...
The man instead looked thrilled, the corners of his eyes faintly reddening.

Before long, the post that had appeared out of nowhere on the forum vanished just as mysteriously. People argued over what had happened, while the wealthy man who had hired Yun Huai assumed he was incredibly capable and wired another huge payment to his account.
Poor Yun Huai looked at the notification lighting up his screen, but couldn't feel happy at all.
He looked at the man behind him, working tirelessly with all his might, and gritted his teeth. “I'm a Taoist priest! Could you at least show some respect for my profession?”
But the man tilted his head, as if he'd understood something.
Yun Huai's startled cry rang out from the room once more.
“I didn't tell you to turn into a nonhuman form!!!”
