If the human brain were an incredibly precise supercomputer, I'd use it to mine in Stardew Valley.
So said Guan Xingran during his most obsessive phase after getting hooked.
Then he really did get to play a fully immersive version of Stardew Valley in his dreams.
I wish people could make use of the time they spend asleep. We could train and analyze, while still getting high-quality rest and sleep that didn't affect our mental health.
So said Ye Xiu, who often stayed up late or even pulled all-nighters because he never had enough time.
Then he really did get to play Glory in his dreams.
A meteorite fell from the sky and blocked Guan Xingran's front door. He split it open with an axe.
Inside was neither an alien nor a spaceship, but a dark-haired shut-in, hammering away at a keyboard.
The shut-in glanced up in the middle of his busy work. "It's really bright. Could you close the rock, please?"
There was no way to close the rock, so Guan Xingran, who was still living in a cramped little room, took the dark-haired shut-in in.
The shut-in was a roommate whose schedule was even stranger than a farmer's.
At six in the morning, Guan Xingran went out with a watering can to tend his fields. The shut-in stayed hunched over his computer.
At 1:55 a.m., Guan Xingran dashed into the house and fell asleep at lightning speed on the bed by the door. The shut-in stayed hunched over his computer.
Guan Xingran kept busy fishing, mining, raising chickens, and petting sheep. The shut-in... sat outside the house and watched, applauding in admiration.
When given a rock, he said, "Now that's a rock!"
When given seaweed, he said, "Isn't this your food?"
When given a daffodil, he said, "Pretty. Mind if I put it in the ashtray? There's no ash in it."
He's so cute!
And even at zero affection, he carries the farmer home when he passes out by the roadside in the middle of the night!
He's so kind!
And he doesn't even charge!
Ye Xiu: "Actually, I could charge you."
Ye Xiu: "Never mind. Your wallet's so empty that even a thief would leave you a couple of bucks."
Guan Xingran wept. "I'm always spending more than I earn... I wanted to be the richest man in town!"
Ye Xiu distractedly scratched his head twice with the back scratcher Guan Xingran had given him. "Don't rush. Being able to support yourself is already impressive."
After reorganizing his schedule, Ye Xiu started venturing outside to experience the wonders of the world.
Fishing, chopping trees, picking flowers, mining, fighting monsters...
Guan Xingran, who had the game's best equipment, had reached the peak of his life! Wait, what game? Wasn't this his home in another world?
Meanwhile
Guan Xingran: "Your affection for me is growing by the day."
Ye Xiu: "Not as fast as yours. You're practically giving it away."
Guan Xingran: "...Please say something respectful about farmers."
Ye Xiu: "Something respectful about farmers."
Later, Guan Xingran saw Ye Xiu's special scene.
Why is he calling me an idiot?!
Why is he bringing up a connection to the real world?! How can someone this perfect exist outside the screen?
Holy crap, my dream boyfriend is God Ye!
[Before You Read]
The title and blurb are both extremely long.
A self-indulgent story written for my own enjoyment. I write whatever comes to mind. It's probably a slow-paced, easygoing story about the two of them.
The story mostly takes place in dreams, and the game content is heavily adapted.
Any out-of-character moments are on me. Glory belongs to Ye Xiu.
Theme: Love can make life better.
