He's Not the Itadori I Know

I have a childhood friend named Itadori. This idiot, restless as a monkey, cracked his head open on the first day of our third year of middle school.

When I heard, I didn't even wait to give my student representative speech. I rushed straight to the hospital.

The good news: Itadori was alive and even bouncing around like nothing had happened.

The bad news: After waking up, my childhood friend started acting really weird. He began rummaging through trash cans everywhere and picking up strange, dried-out fingers to eat.

By the third month after Itadori was discharged, I began to realize the problem was much more serious than that.

Not only was he obsessed with searching trash cans for dried-out fingers to eat, he would also talk to his own palm from time to time, muttering to himself like a madman. On top of that, he would periodically go berserk and grab me, saying, "Could this all be a dream?"

Of course, these were all minor problems.

Being as beautiful and kindhearted as I am, I could choose to overlook them out of concern for my childhood friend.

But... when I once again found my childhood friend, apparently sleepwalking onto the balcony outside my bedroom and muttering, "This time, I'll definitely protect Wakana," as he prepared to climb in through the window, I finally realized things were taking a strange turn.
