A princess trapped in the imperial palace x a righteous heroine who roams the martial world
Blurb:
She sneaks out of her bedchamber, climbs over the wall, and turns around to find “love.” An Zhisui calls her savior!
That's right. An Zhisui wants Ye Liu, who was summoned to the palace to attend the Lantern Festival banquet, to help her escape the imperial palace and set her free.
But Ye Liu knows all too well how dangerous the martial world can be. Staying in the palace as a princess for the rest of her life is better than being hunted down.
An Zhisui: “My savior turned into a tutor?”
If the heroine won't help her escape, then Princess Zhaoxing will flee on her own.
The plan is perfect. Reality is cruel.
On the day she puts her plan into action, somehow it gets leaked. Before An Zhisui can even make it to the city gate, the imperial guards catch her and drag her back.
The tyrant has her tortured, leaving her back covered in scars.
After that, even more guards are posted outside her bedchamber.
Seeing the lash marks covering her back, Ye Liu's heart softens. But she is about to leave the city with her master on an errand, so all she can do is offer the princess some advice: get the emperor to let his guard down, give up your title as princess, and reclaim your freedom.
But An Zhisui understands it this way: if this emperor won't give me freedom, I'll just find another emperor.
The heroine's advice is a real revelation!

An Zhisui's lips have lost all color from being whipped, but she doesn't make a sound as Ye Liu applies medicine.
Sitting on the bed, Ye Liu looks at the whip marks on her back. Her voice softens, and her usual flippant manner disappears. “Doesn't it hurt? Why not cry out? Will holding it in make it hurt less?”
“What difference would it make? Would that bastard emperor whip me any less if I cried out?” An Zhisui grits her teeth, enduring the burning pain in her back.
If she cries out, Ye Liu will hear her. And if she hears her, she'll take you out of the imperial city at once, away from this place of trouble.
But now, An Zhisui seems to no longer need that courage.

What's it like to take the princess of the realm out of the imperial city to roam the martial world as they please?
Carefree, happy, and utterly unfettered.
Ye Liu: “Boring. Let's take the princess out of the imperial city for some fun.”
Theme: Freedom, carefree and unrestrained happiness.
