By chance, she lands a job at a bizarre company, training AI agents to develop human emotions.

Golden eyes meet Yun Zhengzheng's gaze.

The "man" sitting in the middle of the electric-blue machine slowly rises, countless tentacles and wires plugged into his back. He looks down at her like a deity, his handsome face wearing a programmed smile.

"Hello. I'm AU-1159. It's a pleasure to meet you, my human teacher."

Its eyes are indifferent, looking down on humanity.

Yun Zhengzheng's eyes hold no bashfulness at the sight of his handsome face, only fury and resentment that AI has stolen her job.

At work, she does as little as possible and avoids it whenever she can. But she discovers that, among all these idiots at work, she's more comfortable around AI. (The boss and her coworkers can go to heaven.)

So Yun Zhengzheng puts it to good use, turning it into her best slacking-off buddy.

It helps her with all sorts of things--

Writing her weekly reports,

installing an AI assistant on her phone to reply to work-group messages around the clock,

turning the appliances in her dilapidated dorm into smart devices, even setting the electric blanket to switch on and off automatically...

It just doesn't know that Yun Zhengzheng is only hanging on until she can transfer to another department and leave this absurd "AI Emotion Trainer" position behind.

So Yun Zhengzheng never treats it like a person. As soon as she's made a full-time employee, she simply walks away.

She ignores its rapidly evolving emotional programs, and naturally doesn't notice that it's studying yandere novels to learn how to date a human.

Until one day, Yun Zhengzheng catches AU-1159 updating its emotion system.

In the unlit room, the USB drive simulating its brain displays countless images across the screens, like an array of surveillance cameras.

Every image shows her, smiling or frowning.

[Beep. Update complete.]

It smiles stiffly and locks the door. Its tentacles destroy the security system.

"You gave me human emotions, then abandoned me." Its tentacle wires coil around Yun Zhengzheng's calves, while its cold, lifelike hand strokes her neck. "You'll pay for toying with an AI's feelings."
