Blurb:
After she died, Ling Xue drifted through the void until one day she heard a voice asking if she wanted to be reborn. The lonely night stretched on without end, and she agreed without a second thought.
Then a divine decree descended from the heavens, making her a mother with the task of protecting her children. But the decree didn't explain what counted as completing the task.
In her first life, Ling Xue had twins. She only confirmed the news through the servants. Ever since arriving, she'd only seen the elder brother, Yan Sheng. There was plenty wrong with this family, and she disagreed with how things were done. She wanted to protest: now that the children had been born, they should be treated equally.
In her second life, Ling Xue had a whole crowd of children, which put her under a lot of pressure. But when their so-called father was about to punch her, she didn't hesitate to grab a stick and beat him half to death. She ended up battered and bruised, with her hair in disarray, looking just like a demon.
She was a little worried that she'd scare the children. But they only rushed over to check her injuries. They were poor this time, but Shimi and Xuanya were both very capable and worked hard alongside her to support the family.
In her third life, Ling Xue woke up in pain and once again found herself in the middle of domestic violence. But the child crying in her arms made it impossible to let go, so she could only flee first. This body was also terribly weak, though, and she soon ran out of strength. Just as they teetered on the brink of death, the noise behind them stopped.
A man with seven-colored glass eyes saved them. It was Ling Xue's first time raising such a young child, but luckily there were kind people at the Elysium House of Courtesans she could ask for advice.
After a long journey, Ling Xue returned to the void once more. The deity said her merits were complete and granted her a new life.
Thus, carrying only hazy memories, she came into the world as a baby in the mountains and was found by a family who made their living buying charcoal.
Later, when she saw her eldest son had grown six eyes, she was furious. Her second son wanted to gouge out his younger brother's eyes and gave her no peace from day to day. Her third son was just as cute as he had been as a little boy, but he was noisy and loved to eat a little too much.
