Country Girl [Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio]

A Qiao found a strong, healthy man and looked after him with good food and drink for a long time. Just as she was about to make him replace the ox that had died and plow her fields, he ran away. All that silver she'd spent on him had gone to waste.

A Qiao heard that he'd gone to the capital and become a prince consort.

A Qiao thought of the man she'd taken in, who had cost her a fortune and run off on his own. Determined not to make the same mistake twice, she said, "No."

The beauty, a demon in human form, gritted his teeth. Why wasn't this damn woman falling for it?

Worst of all, the demon saw A Qiao cuddling a fox affectionately in her arms.

He was a fox too! Why wouldn't A Qiao cuddle him?

Just as the demon angrily demanded an explanation, he heard A Qiao sweetly ask the fox, "Would you like to be my fox-fur muffler?"

The demon: ?
